Five reasons Arsenal will beat Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby

1. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang loves scoring against Tottenham

The Gabonese striker has an excellent goals per game ratio since his move to the Emirates and he could well increase it against one of his favourite opponents. Even though he failed to notch against Spurs last term for the Gunners, hes netted four goals in five matches against Mauricio Pochettinos men, all for Borussia Dortmund in their Europa League and Champions League encounters.

2. Tottenham are weak at set-pieces

Spurs arent too good at stopping their opponents at dead ball situations with five of the 11 goals they have conceded coming from them in the Premier League. Two have come from corners, one from a set-piece and two others from penalties (both against Wolves). Arsenal meanwhile, are a team who are good in the air and at these situations having netted three goals from corners and two from set-pieces.

3. Tottenham Hotspur could be tired

Sure, Spurs have had a great run of results lately but energetic displays against Chelsea and Inter Milan will have drained their players both physically and mentally. The likes of Ben Davies, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld and Serge Aurier all started those two games and it if they do play from the top again could well fade. Davies in particular is the most obvious to target if he starts ahead of Danny Rose.

4. Unai Emery has an excellent record against Mauricio Pochettino

The Spanish boss has gone up against Sundays rival seven times in his career and has a favourable win rate. So far, Emery has won four of the games, losing two and drawing the other.

5.Lucas Torreira wont get bossed like Jorginho

Tottenham were superb against Chelsea and one of the key components of the victory was the way they marshalled playmaker Jorginho. This time out its likely their midfield is going to encounter the hustle and bustle of Torreira alongside Granit Xhaka. This pairing are likely to keep the Spurs attackers quiet if they can close the gaps and force the likes of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli into trickier passes.
