11Eden Hazard finally secured his ‘dream’ switch to Real MadridEden Hazard’s move to Real Madrid may well have kick-started the market, coming in at a cool 88million, initially. It’s just a shame for Chelsea they cannot spend the money until their transfer ban is either cancelled or over next summer. The Hazard move has, though, set the bar and will give clubs the perfect barometer for other transfer fees. It’s currently the biggest deal so far, but who else makes the top ten? Find out below.
10. Kerem Demirbay (Hoffenheim to Bayer Leverkusen) – 24millionLong-linked with a Premier League switch, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal both reportedly interested, Demirbay has swapped Bundesliga clubs this window.A German international, Demirbay is an excellent creative midfielder and is needed to replace the outgoing Julian Brandt at Leverkusen.

Thorgan Hazard (Borussia Monchengladbach to Borussia Dortmund) – 30millionIt’s not just Eden going for big money in the Hazard household.Little brother Thorgan is doing just fine on his own and netted ten goals and created ten for team-mates in 2018/19.Now he’ll become part of an already talented Dortmund frontline which includes England wonderkid Jadon Sancho.

11Thorgan Hazard is coming out of big brother Eden’s shadow8. Raul Jimenez (Benfica to Wolverhampton Wanderers) – 30millionSigned on loan last summer, Wolves didn’t need too much persuading to make the deal permanent. The Mexican is a fan favourite at Molineux with supporters wearing luchador masks in tribute – 13 Premier League goals and seven assists was a fine haul for a player in his maiden season in England. If he can get a similar total in 2019/20 the deal will be a bargain.

11Jimenez has been excellent for Wolves7. Benjamin Pavard (Stuttgart to Bayern Munich) 31.4millionIt’s been a year since the French defender got fans drooling at the World Cup with his stunning strike against Argentina. He wasn’t able to save his former club from relegation but his big fee will help them rebuild in the German second tier.Pavard’s tactical versatility make him a fine acquisition for Bayern.

11Pavard was relegated this season but that hasn’t stopped Bayern swooping6. Rodrygo (Santos to Real Madrid) – 40millionThe Spanish giants are intent on snapping up the best young South American talents and having already landed Vinicius Junior they will now get another left winger with huge potential. He’s already made more than 80 appearance across all competition at just 17 years old and has netted nine times in 41 Serie A apperances.

Eder Militao (FC Porto to Real Madrid) – 45millionThis was announced back in March but is still technically a summer transfer, with the deal not ratified until June. The Brazilian defender’s rise to the top has been extraordinary given he only joined Porto last summer – for just 5million.He initially played at right-back in Portugal but then excelled in the centre of defence, where he is likely to operate for Zinedine Zidane.

11Militao is also a Brazilian international4. Luka Jovic (Eintracht Frankfurt to Real Madrid) – 58millionOne of the finest young poachers in world football, the Serbian was an inspired loan signing from Benfica by the Germans two summers ago. After 34 goals in 70 games they jumped at the chance to activate a 7million clause in his contract back in April.Just two months later they have sold him for almost ten times the amount – although around 10million is set to go to Benfica as part of their arrangement.

Lucas Hernandez (Atletico Madrid to Bayern Munich) – 80millionOne of several departures from Diego Simeone’s side this summer, Hernandez was being tracked by the Bavarian behemoths for some time.In the end the German side bit the bullet and paid the French World Cup winner’s release clause.
